Southwell Primary Schools Creative Learning Residency funded by DLGSC

This project was made possible through The Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) Creativity for School’s Program and was one of just three projects in the state to receive funding in the Residency: Grants of up to $20,000 category in 2023.

Southwell Primary School kindergarten to year six students and teachers worked with Kaitlyn to learn about Cockburn and Fremantle’s captivating local history. From a 19th Century Noongar activist who took it upon themselves to petition the Queen, to tenacious Chinese market gardeners, exasperated cameleers and their unfortunate steeds to excessively layered women’s fashion this project was a journey to discover the stories that have made us!
